5Great historical novel.  Feb 10, 2010
We are in the Tucson, Arizona area for the winter and this is a wonderful history of this area in the early 1900's, 1906 to be exact. So accurate on the climate and trials here. A great read.

5Wow, I enjoyed Sarah's Quilt  Dec 08, 2009
Sarah's Quilt was an exciting read. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased it for a friend for her birthday.
We love this series. If you live in Arizona and enjoy a bit of history, you have to read this book to understand how life was one hundred years ago. It will surely make you appreciate all of today's modern conveniences. Love of family and personal responsibility are two important values in Sarah's life. She was an amazing woman.

2Disapointed  Jul 27, 2009
Imagine the Arizona Territories at the end of the 1800's and the settlers who tamed it. Now imagine EVERY possible tragety imaginable, and you have the jist of the book! Come on, now. It becomes a little tireing, unbeleiveable, and ridiculous after a bit. This was a bit disappointing to me because, even though there was plenty of heartache in the first book, it was a great story and you had.... Jack (sigh). In book two the tragic life becomes unreal and there is no...(sigh) Jack. Don't waste your time. I'm not even going to pursue book three.

3Good but...  Jul 27, 2009
I so enjoyed "These is My Words" and was so happy to find that the story of Sarah continued. The disappointing thing about the sequel was the lack of consistency and some outcomes that lack realism. Nonetheless, the author does a fabulous job making Sarah come to life and I especially could relate to so many of the character's feelings as a mother. I have begun "The Star Garden" and am looking forward to what Sarah will face now.
